This Privacy Policy explains how BSP Technologies LLC, doing business as MacTain, handles information for the MacTain website, Online Services, and MacTain Software. The Software includes the MacTain app, related components, updates, documentation, hosted licensing, support, and license-management features.
Website And Online Services
When you use mactain.com or MacTain Online Services, MacTain may process information needed to operate the website, route requests, protect the service, manage Accounts, provide support, process purchases, and maintain licensing. This may include standard request metadata, a stable Account identifier, email address, and authentication state; Trial eligibility and timestamps; service and security logs; and support communications and materials that you supply.
MacTain App And Software
The MacTain app is designed to manage local container workflows on your Mac. MacTain may process information needed to activate the Software, verify Entitlements, provide updates, diagnose errors, support your Account, and keep the Software reliable and secure.
MacTain does not claim ownership of your container workloads, local files, application data, or user-generated content.
MacTain does not intentionally collect container contents, secrets, mounted files, local workload data, or User Content unless you choose to send diagnostics, logs, screenshots, support attachments, or other materials that include them.
Secure VPN Tunnel Data
MacTain stores and processes saved WireGuard profiles, public keys, endpoints, interface addresses, DNS servers, routes, container assignments, tunnel status, and related non-secret connection metadata locally on your Mac to provide Secure Egress.
WireGuard private keys and optional preshared keys are stored locally in Engine-owned, write-only Keychain-backed secret storage. MacTain does not return those key values through ordinary GUI, CLI, status, logs, or diagnostics after they are saved.
Secure Egress status, bounded local logs, aggregate metrics, and diagnostics remain on your Mac and are not automatically uploaded by Secure VPN Tunnel. If you choose to send support email, diagnostics, logs, screenshots, or attachments, the information you include is transmitted to us and handled under this Privacy Policy; review those materials before sending them.
Licensing, Accounts, And Payments
For Account access, one-Trial enforcement, licensing, billing reconciliation, fraud and abuse prevention, security, support, disputes, and audit, MacTain may process a stable Account identifier, email address, and authentication state; Trial eligibility and timestamps; hashed activation and device evidence; Entitlement, JTI, and validation state; Merchant-of-Record customer, subscription, transaction, product, price, and lifecycle identifiers; founder and administrator transitions; service and security logs; and support communications and materials that you supply.
Payment details are handled by the Merchant of Record. MacTain receives only the identifiers and lifecycle state needed to reconcile purchases, subscriptions, taxes, receipts, refunds, cancellations, paid access, and founder status.
Updates
MacTain may use Online Services to check for, deliver, or support Software updates. Update-related requests may include standard request metadata, app version, platform information, and information needed to determine update eligibility or delivery.
Diagnostics, Logs, And Support
If you contact support@mactain.com, we will strive to respond within one business day. Support requests may include your email address, message content, attachments you choose to send, Account context, logs, diagnostics, screenshots, or error details. Please review support attachments before sending them if they may contain secrets, container output, mounted file paths, or workload data.
Third-Party Services
MacTain uses Third-Party Services to operate the Website, Online Services, payments, authentication, hosting, storage, email/support, and related infrastructure. Current service providers include the Merchant of Record for payments, Supabase for authentication and database services, and Vercel for hosting.
Retention, Deletion, And Security
MacTain retains the minimal Account, Trial, activation, Entitlement, subscription, fraud-prevention, founder, and audit ledger needed for Account access, one-Trial enforcement, licensing, billing reconciliation, fraud and abuse prevention, security, support, disputes, legal compliance, and audit. Ordinary Account closure, reactivation, recreation, or deletion request does not erase records needed for those purposes and does not reset Trial eligibility. Those records have no self-service, scheduled, or ordinary manual purge path. This does not mean that unrelated transient operational records are kept indefinitely.
